I drove into Manhattan, NY in September at 11:30 at night looking for a place to park. Traffic was worse then rush hour in Little Rock! The only place I found to park was in a traffic lane! Haha should I park there I would find myself getting towed and a parking ticket as well. So I headed for upstate NY thought I would see some fall colors in the trees. I was to early for that but I did learn that finding a road going north out of Manhattan to upstate NY that is not toll is almost impossible. After my experience with the toll companies I decided I did not want to be a tourist any near New York City. Next time I go I will come into NY from the west and sneak across the north and miss the toll roads coming out of New York City, and I will go a little later in the year, perhaps the fall colors will be out later. i did find some wonderful camping places.
